Camden Pet Care Day

AWA brings free pet food, free and low-cost veterinary care, and pet microchips directly to residents in Camden City. Many pet owners in Camden do not have access to affordable vet care or pet supplies. AWA’s staff and veterinarian bring our mobile clinic and offer residents a chance to have their pet examined as well as schedule spay/neuter surgery appointments. This event is part of AWA’s “Vets on Wheels” program, generously supported by the Camden County Board of Freeholders.

Camden Pet Care Day

AWA held two successful Camden Pet Care Days in 2018, helping dozens of pets and their families. The following products and services were distributed at our October 13, 2018 Pet Care Day:

  • 78 Pets were microchipped
  • 900 lbs of food
  • 700 lbs of cat food
  • 105 doses of flea/tick preventative for dogs and cats
  • 75 Collars/leashes
  • 16 Cat Carriers
  • 11 spay/neuter surgeries were scheduled
  • 16 wellness appointments

History

AWA held its first Camden Pet Care Day on Saturday, November 14, 2015. We brought our mobile clinic to microchip pets as well as to offer an “Ask the Vet” session. We also had our behavior coordinator on hand so people could “Ask the Trainer” their pet behavior questions. We also donated food and supplies to needy pets. Camden Pet Care Day is another way in which AWA brings necessary pet care into Camden City.

Thank you to Camden County Board of Freeholders for supporting our outreach programs in Camden.
