RESCUE FIX (Shelters and Rescue Groups)

AWA partners with the community to provide subsidized services for low-income pet owners and rescue groups.  This program gives shelter animals another chance for adoption into their loving, forever homes.

Helping Hand Surgery - Through "Helping Hand Surgery", the AWA can provide an affordable surgical option for shelter and rescue organizations that don't have the resources for surgery at a full-service veterinary hospital.  Examples of surgeries included in this program are tumor removals, hernias, wound repairs, ear hematomas, entropions, enucleations and other eye surgeries.

Prior to the surgery, the shelter/rescue organization will need to bring the complete medical records (including any blood work, X-rays, etc.) from their veterinarian and the animal to the AWA for an evaluation ($30.00 exam fee).  The AWA's veterinarian will determine if surgery at the AWA is possible.  At the time of the exam, the fee for surgery, anesthesia and any necessary medications will be discussed.

The Animal Welfare Association respects the privacy of its supporters. Therefore, it is AWA policy not to share, sell or in any way disclose information about our donors to any other individual or organization
