AWA offers Community Workshops, free and open the public, to educate pet owners on various topics relating to pet care.
We will be making cozy, all weather dens for the wildest cats among our animal loving community . . . feral cat colonies. Those stray, abandoned, and down right wild felines who live outdoors in cat colonies all throughout South Jersey need safe places to rest through wind, rain, and snow (after they have been spayed/neutered and returned to their colony to live)! We will be making feral cat dens at this workshop. Each participant must bring the following items:
– 32 gallon plastic tote container with matching lid;
– 1 Bale of straw (medium sized, dry bale, & cannot be hay);
– 1 roll of duct tape;
– 1 Styrofoam cooler;
– 1 sheet of sandpaper;
– 1 exacto knife;
– 1 hair dryer;
– 4 plastic zip ties (any size);
Attendees must be 17 yrs. or older to participate.
Donations of all of these items would be welcome! Please email the education and outreach coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to donate any of the listed supplies.
