Dr. Sara Patiño-Davis attained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She practiced as a Registered Dietitian for several years prior to pursuing a career that aligned with her love for animals. She solidified her decision to switch careers while volunteering and working for a local shelter. Her passion for shelter medicine, access to care work, and high volume/high quality spay/neuter strengthened throughout her time in veterinary school and aligns with AWA’s mission. Dr. Patiño-Davis is Colombian with her native language being Spanish. She spends her time away from AWA hiking with her dogs, rock climbing with her husband, doing yoga, and reading outside on her porch with her cats.
