Looking to gain hands-on experience while making a difference? Join the Animal Welfare Association’s Internship Programs! We offer a variety of opportunities for students to learn and grow in a dynamic environment while supporting our mission of improving animal welfare.

  • Animal Behavior & Training
  • Shelter Medical
  • Education Department
  • Clinic Veterinary Technician
  • Digital Marketing & Social Media

Application Process:

  • Submit a resume and letter of interest to Education@awanj.org.
  • Applications are accepted year-round and filled on a rolling basis.

Interns must complete 150 hours within 6 months or less, aligning with their university semester schedule.
This is an unpaid internship, with no guarantee of employment upon completion. However, AWA will keep resumes on file for future opportunities as we expand.
AWA complies with school guidelines to ensure eligibility for course credit.
