Adopting Dogs and Puppies

All dogs and puppies are:

  • Spayed or Neutered
  • Fecal tested for intestinal parasites
  • Dewormed (often the first in a series of treatments that should be completed by the adoptive family)
  • Heartworm tested
  • Treated for fleas
  • Up to date with age appropriate vaccinations (for puppies, the first in a series of vaccinations that should be completed by the adoptive family through their veterinarian)
  • Microchipped
  • Receive one free month of Sheltercare Pet Health Insurance

Dogs must go home with a buckle collar and a leash which you can purchase at the shelter office. A free ID tag comes with each adoption and all dogs and puppies come identified with a unique, permanent microchip. Microchip registration is included in the adoption.
