Sponsor a Pet
Sponsoring a pet at the Animal Welfare Association makes a true impact in saving lives
With a $75 gift, you can put a furry face to your donation by being a part of AWA’s Pet Sponsorship program. Your 30-day sponsorship gives additional support to a select group of animals that need some extra help. These adoptable pets may already have a higher-than-average length of stay at AWA, they may be older, or have health or behavior challenges that make it more difficult to find their forever home.
Sponsor a pet and be a champion to homeless animals until they find their forever home!
If you are unable to sponsor an animal through our Pet Sponsorship program, we ask that you please share their story to help them find a loving home.
How It Works
- Choose an animal from the lists below
- Click “Sponsor Me” and fill out information (make sure to include which pet you’d like to sponsor!)
- Checkout and save a life!
$75 receives 30-day sponsorship of an AWA animal. If animal is adopted during sponsorship, funds will be added to general operating fund to help other pets in AWA’s care.
Choose a Pet In Need
The animals available in our Pet Sponsorship program are the most in need. They may be having a difficult time being adopted due to age, breed, or size, or have medical or behavioral challenges making it harder for them to find homes.
Choose the dog, cat, or small animal that you would like to sponsor from our available sponsorship list. If that pet is adopted during your month of sponsorship, your gift will still help other needy pets by going into AWA’s general operating fund.
Visit our adoptions pages to find more pictures and learn more about the animals available for sponsorship at AWA.
Dogs
Our dogs available for sponsorship will change as more come in and others are adopted out. For more pictures and information of these pups, visit our dog adoption page to help choose the dog you’d like to sponsor.
Autumn
I'm Autumn! I love to earn treats by being a good listener. It's because I love to have fun with my humans. One day I know I'll have a friend to eat treats with forever.
Leo
Leo, here. I've been dealing with some anxiety being in a shelter, but my friends have done their best to make me feel comfy at AWA. Once I'm out on a walk or with a human friend I get super excited, so I hope my time to go home comes soon!
Mason
I'm Mason! I was a very lonely pup when I came to AWA, but since going into foster care I've really been opening up! I love to hang out and watch tv with my friends, and they say I'm very smart learning new tricks! When somebody adopts me they're in for a real treat!
Tanya
Hey, it's Tanya! Sometimes I can be a bit of a scaredy cat, but once I warm up to new things I'm really fun and loyal to my people. Shelter life can be hard, so I'm doing my best to make lots of friends until it's finally time for me to go home!
Diana
Diana, here. I can be a very easy going gal, even if I was named after a princess. I'm 7 years old, which has made it harder for me to get adopted, but I have plenty of great years ahead of me to have fun with a new family who gives me a chance!
Chief
I'm Chief. My favorite movie is Jaws, and I wish I was allowed to drive the boat. Do you have a boat? It's okay if you don't, I'll still be the best first mate you've ever had!
Cats
Our cats available for sponsorship will change as more come in and others are adopted out. For more pictures and information of these friendly felines, visit our cat adoption page to help choose the cat you’d like to sponsor.
Haribo
Hi, my name's Haribo and it fits me because I'm as sweet as any gummy bear and just as petite, too! I can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but it doesn't take very long at all for me to come around. I'm still pretty young at only 2 years old, so even though I'm happy and comfortable at the AWA, a real home I can spend the rest of my life in is my dream!
Marco
I'm Marco, and my brothers and sisters and I came to AWA after being found as kittens in a drainage pond with a mysterious skin condition. We were affectionately dubbed the "sewer cats" but like to think we're more like the ninja turtles. Of which I'd say I'm most like Michaelangelo. Cowabunga!
Polo
Polo, here. My brother said he thinks he's Michaelangelo? Well I'm the cool one of the group, he's more like Donatello. A few of our other brothers and sisters have been adopted, but we're staying positive because we still get to hang out with our AWA friends that have nursed us back to health!
Frost
I'm Frost, and I'd like to think I'm the cutest of the AWA sewer cats, if I do say so myself. I've been in foster care while I wait for a home because I love the extra attention. Which is why I'm hopeful the rest of my siblings and I get a forever home soon!
Puddy
Hello, my name is Puddy and I'm a big bundle of energy! At only 7 months old, I'm still full of that kitten-like wonder and would do well in a home that can keep me active and stimulated; I love to play! I'm also FIV+, which means that my immune system has to work harder, but I can live a completely normal life just like any other cat!
Butterfly
Flying my way into your heart it's me, Butterfly! I'm sweet, sensitive, and just the right amount of feisty. Everyone else's words, not mine. I swear. Come see why they keep talking about me today!
Dash
They call me Dash because I'm so fast, but not just when I run. I'm also a fast learner and make people fall in love with me in a snap! Don't believe me? Come to AWA and find out!
Rico/Monkey
Rico, Monkey, Monkey Man, whatever you wanna call me, I'm your man! I like to have a whole lot of fun and play with my human friends, so I can't wait to find a new bff!
Smiley
I'm so happy, they named me Smiley! I was diagnosed with a cataract when arriving at AWA, but for a 9-year old gal like me I'm not sweating it. I'm staying Smiley and looking forward to finding a new home!
Small Animals
Our guinea pigs, rabbits, and other small animals available for sponsorship will change as more come in and others are adopted out. For more pictures and information of these littles, visit our small animal adoption page to help choose the furry friend you’d like to sponsor.
Darwin
Sirent
Sponsor me if you like my mustache and think I look like Ron Perlman...
